I usually do not like giving such a low rating to any of the books but I did not like this book In the entire book, the baby trolls are talking about signing a petition and getting equal rights They want to be featured in a movie or a tv show and they are repeating this again and again in the entire book There is not even a story, or I could not think of anything which a child could take away from this book other than signing a petition I expectedfrom this one The only thing I liked a I usually do not like giving such a low rating to any of the books but I did not like this book In the entire book, the baby trolls are talking about signing a petition and getting equal rights They want to be featured in a movie or a tv show and they are repeating this again and again in the entire book There is not even a story, or I could not think of anything which a child could take away from this book other than signing a petition I expectedfrom this one The only thing I liked about this book is baby troll characters

As a parent of a 4 year old who loves the newest iteration of trolls, involving Princess Poppy, I expected this book to continue in the same vein of happy hugging cheerful trolls The illustrations of small colorful cheerful trolls with high ponytails would also indicate these are the same type of trolls However, this book is about the older concept of scary under the bridge trolls, and the infant versions who want to be taken seriously. Most children today have grown up with the Princess Poppy As a parent of a 4 year old who loves the newest iteration of trolls, involving Princess Poppy, I expected this book to continue in the same vein of happy hugging cheerful trolls The illustrations of small colorful cheerful trolls with high ponytails would also indicate these are the same type of trolls However, this book is about the older concept of scary under the bridge trolls, and the infant versions who want to be taken seriously. Most children today have grown up with the Princess Poppy version of trolls, and kids will be very confused by these sweet baby trolls wanting to be scary My biggest concern with this book, however, is the format The dialogue is spread throughout each page, attached to the character who is speaking This format made it difficult to understand which order to read the dialogue in, as it is in multiple thought bubbles all over each page with some characters having multiple pieces of dialogue on a single page I appreciate children s books that want to engage the reader by directing the dialogue to the reader, but the story needs to be made clearer. There are some spacing issues that need reformatting as well. Finally, I am confused as to the target age range for this book The title, Baby Trolls Get a Bad Rap, is a title that most kids under the age of 5 won t understand A parent or librarian would first have to explain what a bad rap is A child who is old enough to understand bad rap is likely too old to be entertained by a book with such childlike illustrations and a dialogue directed at the reader I like the sweet illustrations, but the formatting and concept of the book need a little work

Not a fanI enjoyed the message behind the story but wasn t wow d by the expression of it I think it could have beenrelatable considering such a deep message and likely an introduction of what a petition is for many children.
