Madame Gigi swept me along on the journey of a seventeen French bride and her naive anticipation of married life in Southern Louisiana I found her to be an inspiration as she overcomes the shocking adversities of a women living in the south during the sixties Again after facing the racism of Nazi invasion in the first bookMademoiselle Gigi she faces prejudice in the “perfect paradise” pronounced by her Cajun husband while in France I liked the way she rises above the racial challenges without becoming bitter and highly recommend reading the book
