Wonderfully written mix of old and new A young man has adventures when he is sent to an isolated island to do research on birds that mirror the society on the island Love interests and danger interspersed with scientific tidbits make this book a compelling read

Love this book A young man travels to a remote island in the South Pacific to study an endemic species of bird only to find that the human occupants there are just as peculiar and a lotdangerous This book offers romance, intrigue and adventure in a richly detailed setting If Roseland were real, I d want to visit I m looking forward to the sequel.

I received this book for free as part of the goodreads first reads giveaway This was a well written but a bit predictable book The characters were likeable and realistic, the pacing was just right, and while I was able to figure out the end before it happened, I really enjoyed reading it I would recommend this book to fans of mystery.

  5. Marissa Marissa says:

This was an intriguing mystery, it kept me hooked until the end It was definitely a bizarre story with the pagan rituals of the islanders but it definitely made itunique and interesting I received this book from Goodreads Giveaways

Maybe as much as 4 1 2 A real horror story no monsters, ghosts, or thing which go bump in the night but one which could happen Awful people doing awful things.
