By now the fact that Vanessa is schizophrenic is obvious When Duncan takes her to her hotel room door to Room 105 she travels into one of her schizophrenic hallucinations where she meets Abby's creations to save them from the monsters and 3 versions of the Warrior aka DuncanRoom 105 is separated by past present and future In each place she meets her Warrior and each time they are in places from Duncan's paintings The first warrior cannot give her what she wants and the second can only help with half of it But the third gives her the key to end the curseview spoilerI am uncertain where the Oz references come from There was no real indication of it having had an impact on her life before Vanessa's hallucinations all are grounded in her reality See the use of Duncan's paintings in Room 105 Further the emotional attachment Vanessa has to her creations is heartbreaking She wants to be well but also loves her creations and receives love back from them I suspect that her attachment to them speaks to the lack of attachments in real life She is lonely and if not unloved she has her aunt then lacking in romantic attachments of any kind Caught between not wanting to lose her family and wanting to get better It's a rough place to be in hide spoiler
